Overview

Debt relief company Citizens Debt Relief was looking for a social media advertisement that broke the norms of what you would expect from their usual campaigns. I was tasked with creating an atmospheric horror parody film to draw viewer's attention, and help convert new clients to the service.

Challenges & Approach

In order to have our lead character's flashlight cast a distinct beam, the house required excessive hazy atmosphere and constant reapplication throughout the shoot. Additionally, we opted to light the scene entirely from outside by shining bright lights through the windows into the house. Due to rain and strong winds, protective measures were needed in order to keep our equipment safe.

The result

The final result nails classic Hollywood Horror Movie tropes, while leaning into slapstick comedy. The combination of a strong opening hook, striking visuals, and satisfying punchline is what made this project so unique.
